We’re proud to announce CyberSmart has been selected to join the first Google Cybersecurity Startups Accelerator programme in Europe, where we are the only British company among 8 European CyberSecurity startups.
Over the next few months, the accelerator program will help CyberSmart further develop various functions of the business, such as Machine Learning, Marketing and Engineering, all backed with the world-class knowledge from Google’s team.
The first week of the programme took place during the 14th-18th of October 2019, where three members of our team travelled to Malaga, Spain to join the other cybersecurity startups and the team of Google mentors. Our team was represented by Jamie Akhtar (CEO), Rob Minford (Head of Engineering) and Theo Tsiftis (Lead Data Scientist).
The week included a variety of activities, workshops and 1-to-1 mentoring sessions, diving into the challenges and opportunities CyberSmart faces. It was also a good time for the team to take on more social activities, enjoy the local tapas and wine, and networking opportunities to further expand our cybersecurity network. With the amazing Malaga weather at this time of the year and the beach on the doorstep, there was time to relax as well as 6 am beach runs (we are all still waiting for photographic evidence for this one).
Through all the learning, there were also opportunities for feedback (very positive) on the different areas CyberSmart is currently developing, namely our Machine Learning area, which is helping us become smarter and has the unparalleled potential for cybersecurity.
A great start to what promises to be yet another boost to CyberSmart’s push to making cybersecurity and compliance accessible to all SMEs as well as pushing to be at the forefront of the world’s cybersecurity industry landscape.
